Kitty's Log

Date: 01-05-2022

Weather: Dull & chilly

Hello dear friends and happy May!

Yes indeed, since my last post another new month has arrived... the year is surely flying by. I do hope you have all been keeping well since I was last in touch.

Here at Casa Tubbs, quite a lot has been going on...

First things first, it was my birthday on April 30th and I turned 12 years old! I am now officially a senior cat - but I must say that I still feel like a sprightly kitten at heart :)

I had such a great day!

I started with a special breakfast, opened some gifts (I got toys, kitty treats and a new blankie), played for a bit, did some zoomies, had a groom, snuggled with my humans and took a nap (lots & lots of naps!).

Next to that, my human (he's a bit older than 12 ;) also celebrated his birthday on the same day...

Here we are together first thing in the morning... the two birthday boys!

I got my human a t-shirt from Scotch & Soda (which fit purrfectly) and - along with my other human (she also arranged gifts) - we all had a great day together.

Speaking of my other human, she had her stitches taken out on April 25th... it seems the surgeon is happy with how things are going and the wound on her foot is looking OK. She is allowed to wear (roomy) shoes again and is walking with just one crutch now... she is quite zippy, in fact!

I do have to be careful on the stairs though (the stairs are still tricky) and make sure not to get under her feet (literally!). Hopefully she will be able to walk fully unaided in a few weeks.

And at least she can finally get back to choir practice again as of next week... she has really missed it.

In other news, we have started watching a new series on TV - well, Videoland to be exact. It's called "Prodigal Son" and it's pretty good, and compelling.

Lou Diamond Phillips (remember him from the La Bamba movie?!) is one of the actors and we love his character.

And just last Wednesday (April 27th), Maastricht (my home town) was on TV for the King's Day celebration.

Members of the Dutch Royal Family were in the city for a few hours and it was all televised... the weather was wonderful and the city really did put on a good show.

I watched the broadcast on the sofa with my human (despite the crutch, she still has to rest-up as much as possible) while my other human went into the city with his family. We were all donned in something orange and it was a very nice atmosphere. And the best part, I got to have some cream from the special orange (King's Day) profiteroles things! #yummy

And now we have moved away from April and find ourselves in May... not long to go now and it will be Star Wars Day (May the 4th! ;)

In the meantime, a quiet few weeks ahead but that can also be nice...

I will leave it there for now, dear friends but I look forward to catching up with you again soon... until then, take care and stay pawesome!

Love, LT x
