Kitty's log
Date: 21-05-2022
Weather: A mixed bag!
Hello dear friends and hope all is well...
I trust that you have been keeping fine since my last post... here at Casa Tubbs, all is OK.
After my mammoth birthday celebrations on April 30th, things settled down once again.
As of last week, my human has been walking without any crutches (from two, to one, to none...). Sadly (to her despair), still no high-heels on the scene just yet but she has invested in some cool sneakers and boots which are doing the trick - and also supporting her foot and allowing the recuperation to continue...

The scar is healing well and looks rather like a cool (pale red) tattoo at the moment! Still no jogging or long walks yet but things are going in the right direction.
Speaking of my Cat Mom, it was Mother's Day on May 8th so I asked my other human to arrange a little gift - a lovely vase from Des Pots.
It's very pretty - you can see a (somewhat blurry ;) glimpse of it in this photo (naturally I'm stealing all focus!).
And we also marked Star Wars Day on May (the) 4th... May the purr be with you, people!
And yet more annual fun came in the form of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place in Turin, Italy on May 14th...
I have to be honest, I didn't manage to stay awake for the full broadcast - Dave and I opted for a sofa snooze around 11pm - but my other human watched the entire thing!
We love Graham Norton and his commentary and, although our favourite song (the UK entry "Space man" by Sam Ryder) didn't win, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening and sent our congratulations to Ukraine.

Away from the TV and the weather here in Maastricht has been rather unpredictable of late.
One minute we have 25 degrees and sunshine, then it's thunderstorms and torrential rain, then it's dry but super "clammy" with temperatures reaching over thirty!
I pop outside to the Catio when the weather suits (sometimes donning my stylish sombrero!) but when it's just too warm, I seek out a cool spot indoors...
In other (not so good) news, I'm afraid we heard that my beloved cat hotel in Maastricht, De Gelaarsde Kat (Puss in Boots) is going to be closing as of June 1st. I was so upset - as were my humans.
Luckily the veterinary clinic "connected" to the cat hotel will remain the same - so I will still get to see my favourite vet (Dr. Kusters) and the lovely staff during my check-ups and vaccinations - but even so...
I fear there is just nothing else for it... my humans can simply never go on holiday again!
That said, they are heading off to Brighton, UK next month for a couple of days (first Eurostar trip in years) and I will get to stay with my lovely Grandma Tiny for a few nights. I have secured a special lodging with a five-start package including lots of meals, extra treats, and constant cuddles... I suspect I'll manage just fine!

But back to today and what's in the planning?
Well tonight is going to be a "cozy at home" set-up. Tomorrow I believe that a (short) photo-walk for my humans is in the planning in the morning, a birthday party in the afternoon, and then a dinner with some friends to finish off the day.
Next week, my human is back at choir practice again (the choir mass last Sunday went very well) and on Thursday (26th May), it's a public holiday here (Ascension Day) so both humans will be off and at home with me... Hurrah!
But the most exciting thing in the planning for the last week of May is a visit to Pathé Cinema to see "Top Gun: Maverick".
Oh yes! It's 36 (36!) years since the original Top Gun movie was released and now, we finally get to re-visit "Fightertown, USA" and take to the skies once more with Pete Mitchell.
I feel the need!!! ;)
Take care everyone... until next time! Love, LT x
