Kitty's Log

Weather: Blustery!

My dear friends,

Forgive me! I am totally behind in my blog posting schedule... last week was a total blur and just whizzed by...

On a plus note, it means I have lots to share this week :)

Well first things first, on Friday 30th April it was my 11th birthday! Oh yes, I am really and truly a senior kitty now... but it's all good - I still feel like a sprightly kitten (and act like it too sometimes, if I'm honest ;)

My birthday went very well!

As you can see, I dressed up in my fancy cat tie for the day that was in it, and received lots of lovely gifts (mostly food related ;) and toys... #grateful

I got a funky new cat bandana (stay tuned for pics) as well.

On the day itself, I had a special birthday breakfast (Royal Canin and Sheba Sauce Lovers) and followed that up with a special lunch ;)

I enjoyed lots and lots of cuddles (even more than usual ;) and took plenty of snoozies... it was a good day and so far, I am rather enjoying being 11 (it reminds me of the cool character from one of my favourite shows on Netflix: Stranger Things!)

Speaking of favourite shows, we are are still enjoying the wonder that is "The Great British Sewing Bee" and we are also on to the last(?) season of "Peaky Blinders". Gosh, it's quite dramatic viewing! But nothing compared with the season finale of "Line of Duty"... all I can say is Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey! #tedhastings :)

Away from TV and we have again been having rather "random" weather here in this little corner of South Limburg that I call home. We have gone from gales and rain to 27°C degree sunshine - and that was just yesterday!

I feel sorry for all the local cafés and restaurants as they have been allowed to open again since April 28th but some days (certainly if they don't have heaters or parasols), they haven't been able to operate.

That said, my humans have been lucky and managed to fit in two terrace visits in the last week which is something...

They headed to Café Sjiek one day and Restaurant Lure the other and both visits were met with glee!

By all accounts, it seems it was lovely to be "back outdoors" again and enjoying an experience that they haven't had for a very long time...

Another new experience for one of my humans is that she has (finally) started her online Irish Class. The first lesson was last week Wednesday (she is doing her homework as I type) and it seems that it went OK. I understand that much of the vocabulary is stuff she remembers from school but there are still nine weeks of tuition to go so let's hope the progress continues... Go n-éirí an bóthar leat!

Speaking of other languages, my humans have started to dream about some vacation time...

They are targeting September for a little getaway and I understand that they are thinking about heading to Switzerland... some place in the mountains with valleys, Alpine cabins, cows with bells on, Rösti and Apfelstrudel!

It all sounds very nice but I am happy that I will not be joining them on the +7 hour road trip (I get car sick) so I will instead be chilling out in my own luxury private room at a nearby 5* Cat Hotel :)

That said, all of this is still a long way off (and may not even materialize) but just thinking about holidays and itineraries has certainly given my humans a little lift...

And on that positive (paws-itive) note, I will sign-off for today (my "old" paws are getting tired ;)

Wishing you all a great week ahead...

Here in the Netherlands, it's a holiday (Ascension Day) this coming Thursday so it's rather nice to have extra day off coming up :)

Take care all and until next time! Love, LT xx
