Kitty's Log

Date: 15-12-2020

Weather: Grey & Raining

Hello dear friends,

I hope all is well…

Here in the Netherlands, we have just entered into a heavier lock-down which will last for the coming five weeks. It looks like it will be a rather odd Christmas and New Year in 2020 but I am still counting my blessings.

It’s been a pretty quiet week... To be honest, I was feeling a bit under the weather. I was vomiting a bit (sorry for being so graphic!) and was totally off my food, water and (worst of all) kitty treats. Imagine!

My humans took me to the vet (he is a nice chap) and I was given fluids and something to settle my tum. Happily I able to return home that same afternoon :)

I still wasn’t myself for a few days but suddenly, I started to feel better – I was eating again (and keeping food down) and drinking water (also from the glasses of my humans). I was also feeling far more active... and vocal!

Here’s hoping that the worst is now over and I can get back to my normal routine :)

For the rest, there was an exciting moment yesterday when my presents (plural!) were place under the Christmas tree (“Shrubby”)...

I am already looking forward to opening these intriguing packages on Christmas Day = just 10 more sleeps!!

We are going to celebrate Christmas Day at home with the three of us this year... my humans have ordered something called a "take-home box" from their favourite restaurant in Maastricht (Harry’s).

Dave will be having their “standard” December Menu and Tracey will have the Vegetarian Menu. So I will have plenty tasty treats and aromas to inspect!

Naturally I am also getting a special Christmas Day dinner – there will be a number of fishy things coming my way, and some festive kitty treats too. Hurrah!!

And speaking of treats, our resident garden birds are really enjoying the feeders at the moment. Poor little guys.. it really is quite chilly out there and they don’t have a radiator like I do. My humans have put-out some peanuts, berries, sunflower seeds and suet balls. It wouldn’t be my cup-of-tea but the birdies seem to love the foodie bits – and I still love to chirp at them through the window so it’s all win-win!

Well dear friends, wishing you a great week ahead – my next post will be on December 22nd and it will then be just three more sleeps until Christmas Day. The merriment!!

Stay safe & well,

Love, LT x
