Hello dear friends,

And I hope this finds you well...

Exciting news on my side! It finally snowed here in Maastricht.

OK, I may be overselling this a bit... we did have some snowfall last Friday night (it was lovely) but by Saturday afternoon, it had turned to slush (less lovely).

Even so I did venture outside on our little patio garden and left these rather impressive paw prints, if I do say so myself.

I also snuffled about a bit in the snow and got some flakes on my little nose which made me sneeze. It was quite a fun outing...

For the rest, it was apparently something called Blue Monday yesterday... Seems Blue Monday is the most depressing day of the year.

I'm not sure why though, I found it a pretty OK day! I had breakfast, chirped at some birds, had a groom, had a nap, played on my scratching post, had lunch and then had another nap (see photo) so all-in-all, a pretty good day, for a (blue) Monday ;)

My human was busy baking over the weekend. She made some brown scones (following an Irish recipe) and some leek and potato soup (also an Irish recipe).

Both looked and smelled very nice but sadly, there was nothing there for me to try (aside from the butter on the scones which I did sneak a bit of :)

She also bought (another) book online... this one is called Penguin Bloom and is about a magpie (called Penguin) who helped a lovely family in Australia.

Speaking about animals, my human was very excited when she came back from her walk on Saturday morning because saw some squirrels in the forest! She first photographed one squirrel who was on a snow covered tree, and then made a video of two other squirrels who were playing together among the trees...

I think squirrels look rather cute, and I do like their tails (sometimes my tail looks all fluffy like that if I get spooked-out or if I'm trying to show my "tough" side ;)

The week ahead is not looking too exciting. I did hear that my humans are planning to give the house a good clean on Saturday and that can only mean one thing: Damien (the vacuum cleaner). I hate that guy... and that horrid noise he makes! Hopefully the whole exercise will be done fast and I will be able to get back to my weekend snoozies...
