Kitty's Log
Date: 02-12-2021
Weather: Rain. Lots of rain.
Hello dear friends and happy Thursday (or Fursday as us kitties like to say!).
Hope you have all been doing well over the past week or so... Oh, and Happy December!
Indeed, it's my first post of the last month of this year (hope you could follow that ;) but there is not so much to share.
I think we are all sort of in a "limbo phase" right now - waiting for the Chrimbo festivities (still 23 days away) - and getting to enjoy some time off.

Still... holidays are coming! (shout-out to you, Coca-Cola ;)
Speaking of soda drinks, earlier this week I learned that Santa Claus didn't always have a red coat and pants. I know!
Apparently many years ago, Mr. Claus actually donned a brown/tan coloured outfit but one year, he saw some artwork by Coca-Cola where they had painted him in a dashing (through the snow) red number.
It seems dear old Santa found the red so charming, that he adopted it as the official colour of his festive outfit.
And staying with this festive vibe... stop the presses!
My humans are (finally) going to pick out our Christmas tree tomorrow. Ding Dong merrily on high, people!
And just in time too as a few Christmas gifties have started to materialize and it's only right that they get to hang-out under the tree...
After much debate (see my previous blog post), it has been decided to opt for a real tree (with roots) which will then find a forever home in our garden come January. Happy days!
Away from happy things and some sad news too this past week... my humans did indeed have to cancel their trip to Ireland :(
It wasn't a decision made lightly but looking at the current situation here and in Eire, and the general [extra] chaos that comes with travel this time of year, along with the fear of potentially "picking up" the virus or passing it on, it was deemed the most sensible decision to postpone...
My human hasn't been back to her homeland for two years now... it's tough enough. But hey, what's another few months, I guess?

In an effort to cheer herself up (and bring a bit of Irish festive cheer to Maastricht), she went shopping at Kelly's Expat Shopping and stocked-up on some Mince Pies, Christmas biscuits, Cadbury's Roses and Tayto crisps (sadly I'm not allowed to sample any of these fancies - boo!)
My human also ordered some Mince Pie mixture for the homemade pies (based on Auntie B's recipe) that she will make in the coming weeks. I LOVE the pastry on those pies - packed with real butter!
For the rest, the snow that was hinted at never made it here (I guess there are delays in all sectors(!) ... but hopefully it'll show (snow ;) up soon!
My human has her birthday this coming weekend... It can be they go to the Christmas market in Aachen on Saturday (for a little potter/some Glühwein... wunderbar!) but I believe it'll depend on the weather... I've squirreled away a nice gift for her and of course, I'll also be giving the gift of myself - and my fluffy cuddles, head boinks and meow's!
Well dear friends, that's about if from me this time... all this typing has worked up quite an appetite so I'm now hankering for breakfast...
Have a good day everyone!
Love,
LT xx
