Weather: Grey and drizzly
Good morning dear friends and happy Sunday!
Well, another weekend is almost over and it's been a pretty grey and drizzly one, truth be told...
There is talk of snow next weekend mind (Imagine! I do like the snow. It's not something I see very often so it's always fun to explore and snuffle around... not to mention the impressive paw art I can leave behind!) but for today, it looks like it's going to stay grey, dull and damp. Ah well, I guess that's November weather for you...
Well here at Casa Tubbs this past week, the main talk has been about Black Friday deals, Covid-19 and Christmas trees. Quite a mixed bag really...

With regard to Black Friday deals, it seems lots of stuff is set to have reduced prices so there are bargains to be had. That said, it seems a lot of said bargains are already sold out...
My human was thinking of getting a new laptop - a MacBook Air in Rose Gold - but a trip to Media Markt yesterday (and a subsequent check online) showed the model she is after is currently unavailable (at least at the reduced price). #boo !
And as for Covid-19, well, here in the Netherlands we are back to a sort of lockdown where restaurants and supermarkets have to close at 8pm and clothing shops and salons as of 6pm.
And my humans are wearing those face masks again when they go shopping or out for dinner... We are hoping this won't last too long and of course, that it also won't have an impact on their travel plans to Ireland in December. It will be a bummer if quarantine measures come in again, given that the Netherlands is now dark red on the Coronavirus map...
Moving onto more cheerful topics and the humans headed off to the garden centre (Intratuin) yesterday to get some inspiration for "alternative" Christmas trees but it looks like it wasn't their day... That said, at least we now know it'll either be a fake tree (to use for years to come) or a real tree (with roots) which can be placed on the patio to continue to live and grow after the holidays...
So in short, it's the very same dilemma we have had for the past 11 years! (my humans really are odd sometimes...).

In the end, I don't really mind which way they go... just as long as we have a tree and I can help (as I do it so well!) with the decoration of same!
During my kitten years, I used to be able to get into the Christmas tree and have a little rest in the branches. The first time I did it, there was mayhem! My humans had no idea where I'd got to (tee-hee!) and were thinking I was in one of the empty boxes or had made a run for it outdoors... but they are a wily pair and I was soon busted and after that, my "Christmas tree concealment" didn't seem as much fun!
Sadly these days, I can no longer fit "into" the tree (unless they get a really big spruce) but as you know, any kitty (young or old) never tires of playing with the baubles so... roll-on Chrimbo! (34 days to go).
In other news... it looks like my human is set to join a choir. Well, she went along last week for an info session and afterwards, got to go inside the St. Servaas church to do some singing with the group. It seems the church is very beautiful inside and when it's empty at night, you can really look around and take it all in. I find that churches can be kind of scary at night, though... they are so still and echoey!
Anyhow, I guess we'll see how it all pans-out but I fear I'll be hearing lots of vocal warm-ups and hymns around the house in the coming weeks (months... pfffffff!). Luckily my human can actually sing so hopefully it won't sound too awful... and who knows, maybe I'll even get to hear a few Christmas Carols soon!

Staying with Christmas and my humans are nearly set with gifts this year... I'm still not sure what to get for either of them (I usually go with a book) so I need to get my skates on and start looking online...
For the rest, it's another F1 day (Qatar) so I'll surely give that a little look... it's quite exciting now as we get towards the end of the season.
And I've also heard talk of blueberry pancakes on the menu for breakfast (well, for the humans at least). I'm not sure what I'll have but I guess it'll look like Royal Canin kibble with a side of some sort of tuna mousse!
Aside from that, I don't think there will be much on the cards today (certainly given the gloomy weather) so I believe I'll focus on some cat-napping (all hail the radiator!) and kitty dreaming... it's tough to be me sometimes ;)
Have a great week ahead everyone, and until next time!
Take care,
Love, LT xx
