Hello dear friends,

I hope all is well and that you've had a good week..

I don't know about you but I can't believe that it will already be February next week! Goodness, how fast January went by...

Although it is still chilly (even snowing!) at times here, the days do seem to be staying a little brighter for longer, and that's nice to see...

I was so happy when the weekend came around (I was a little hyper, truth be told ;) I raced up two flights of stairs and bounded onto the wooden beams in the attic in celebration. It was most exhilarating!

After that, I played on my scratching post and then had a fun half-hour with my fish-toy that I got for Christmas... Although I am classed as a "senior cat" (being nearly 11 years old now), I do believe I am still a "big-kitten" at heart :) That said, after all of the activity, I was totally tuckered out!

My human has been practicing piano a lot more recently - in fact I have heard that more and more people are playing (learning) musical instruments during lock-down - and it seems she has almost learned her (first) Chopin: Prelude Op. 28 No. 4. I like this piece and I sometimes sleep on my cushion on top of the piano while she plays...

When the time is right, it looks like she is ready to learn another piece from Chopin... I've heard talk of another Prelude or a Nocturne. Stay tuned!

In other news, things have been a bit tense here in the Netherlands this past week. On January 23rd, the Dutch government introduced a curfew as of 9pm but sadly, many people have been rioting and looting in protest. And just tonight, the mayor of Maastricht (where I live) announced a sort of emergency regulation and declared the city a security risk area. Scary stuff.

The curfew is fine for me as I never really venture out at night anyway... I am usually on the radiator after dinner or hanging out in my hammock at that time. I hope everyone else will stay safe indoors too...

Well that's about it from me for this week.. I can't believe that my next post will be on February 2nd!

Ooooh.. and I'll be able to speak about the Six Nations Rugby then :) My human is so happy that the tournament is going ahead (kick-off is on February 6th)...

Time to ruck and roll, people!
