Weather: Dry and bright

Hello dear friends and happy Monday!

Ah yes, the day of the week can than sometimes spark ‘shudders’ in the toughest of cats… but not me :)

Sorry Boomtown Rats but I rather like Mondays! And especially when it’s a dry and bright one like today…

I woke my humans up about 6am (they were not so impressed) but up they got to open the door to the Catio for me (I like a morning snuffle) and to sort out my breakfast...

It's said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but I’m not so sure... I put high importance on all meals: breakfast, second breakfast (shout-out to Hobbits ;), lunch, afternoon snacks, pre-dinner snacks, dinner…

I must say that the mornings are certainly darker now and next month (OMG, it’s nearly October), the clocks will ‘go back’.

But the good news is that the darker the morning the more chilly it does tend to be and (to follow on from my previous post) that means ye olde radiators will soon be working their magic. There is nothing like a morning cat loaf (with stretched-out front paws) on the rads! #bliss

But what else has been going on recently?

Well my humans were away (again!) last weekend. They decided to have a spontaneous visit to the seaside (oh I do like to be beside…) in order to make the most of the (still) mild and sunny weather.

They headed up north to a place call the Hague on Friday morning - by all accounts, the traffic was horrendous (I was glad I decided to stay home and have the house to myself for a bit). But don’t worry, a happy helper popped by a few times to check on me and ensure my collection of food bowls and water were well stocked up!

Once in The Hague, my humans passed by the American Book Center (my human had a bunch of vouchers to use) where they spent a very pleasant hour milling about and making selections…

I think they scored five books plus a greeting card with a cat on it that looks like me!

After that, they did a spot of touristy stuff in the Hague (e.g. visiting the Mauritshuis and Binnenhof) before getting out to Scheveningen by the sea.

I really don’t like the sea - it’s far too noisy plus, there is just WAY too much water in the mix! - but my humans love it and they enjoyed being blown about, having the sand flick their faces, listening to seagulls, watching the surfers, and all the rest…

My humans were back in the late afternoon on Saturday and honestly, I did miss them a bit. It was a nice homecoming and we caught-up with plenty of snuggles and filling each other in on what had been going on during our days apart.

For the rest, it was a rather exciting F1 race in Russia on Sunday. Congratulations to the podium winners but poor Lando... (this is why I don’t like the rain ;)

And what of the coming week?

ree

Well… my humans are going to have a look at some houses in the area (I think some in the city and some in the countryside). They have these moments where properties show up and they go check them out. I’m not sure what will come of it - they are both so "flippy-floppy" when it comes to this subject.

Do we want to live in the city or the countryside?

Do we want to live in the Netherlands or abroad?

I just leave them to it and continue with my snoozies… I’m sure I’ll hear something when there is something to hear!

Oh, and my human has invested in a vintage watch. It’s an Omega Sea Master from 1962 and it's in perfect (purrfect ;) working order. It's a very fancy watch, I must say, but I'm not allowed to play with it at all... harrumph!

Well dear friends I shall leave it there for now… wishing you all a great day and week ahead.

Next time I put paw to keyboard it’s going to be October... the time of the Hunters Moon, pumpkins, the changing of leaves, and Halloween!

Until soon,

Love, LT xx
