Hello dear friends and hope this finds you well...
Here I am doing my final post for 2021 on the night before the last day of the year! It's scary really to think how fast time has passed...
But first things first... how was your Christmas? I do hope that you enjoyed some lovely festive days with your loved ones.
Things on my side went really well and I had a very nice time with my humans. On Christmas Day, my humans went to church (there were carols :) and found it all very pleasant.
Once they got home, we prepared a rather fine spread! I enjoyed some kibble, soft food, kitty treats and liquid snacks while my humans tucked into their menu box from the Witloof restaurant, along with some bubbles.

We also opened gifties... My humans loved the books I got for them ("Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari for him and "The cat who saved books" by Sosuke Natsukawa for her).
I also got some very cool (yule :) presents - kitty food, cat treats, a ball (which dispenses said cat treats), kibble, a catnip cat toy and... a scarf!
Don't I look smart? :)
As mentioned in my previous post, my human knitted this for me and I must say, she did a pretty good job - it fits well and is very warm and snuggly. Purrfect for these grey winter days...
That said, the knitting hasn't stopped there, dear friends... oh no! My human enjoyed knitting my scarf so much that she decided to use the remaining wool to fashion a pair of finger-less mittens for herself! I think it's nice to be 'crafty' (and it seems the project is coming along nicely) but we will surely have to coordinate our clothing choices going forward...
I mean, I obviously can't wear my scarf on the same day that she dons her mittens... imagine!
Who knew I could be such a fashionista? (though I guess I am a Tuxedo Cat ;)
I think my mode mania is coming from the fact that we binge-watched Emily in Paris on Netflix. Season two came out over the holidays and we were hooked... it's a really nice show and the views of Paris are just magnifique - not to mention all the style!
Speaking of Paris... my humans almost went there for a day trip over the Christmas holidays but in the end, it seems the cost of the Thalys was just a bit too expensive... so this is another mini-break that will have to "carry over" to next year...

In fact, the list of "trips to make" is ever-growing... next to Paris, there's talk of London, Brighton, Edinburgh, West Cork, Crete, Azores, Tokyo... you get the idea!
Here's hoping that travel will become a little easier in 2022.
Back to this year and it's been a pretty quiet few days all in all and - as the weather has been rather grim - we have just been hanging out at home for the most part.
My human did go to the Recycling Plant today however (it was long overdue) and the cellar looks far neater now...
But what of the plans for the last day of the year?
Well, we have stocked-up on food & drinkies and my humans will prepare a sort of "platter of bites" for the evening... There is also Champagne in the refrigerator so I think we are all set.
The plan is to watch a little TV (it just so happens that the next season of Cobra Kai starts on Netflix tomorrow ;) and to have a "chilling on the sofa" type evening. I have heard talk of watching Jools Holland's Hootenanny but it depends if we are all still awake (it's on at 00:25 our time. Yikes!)

I am a bit nervous about tomorrow though... although fireworks have been banned in the Netherlands on NYE, there are always some "rogue pyros" around.
I hope it won't be too scary. Fireworks are not so nice for us kitties... nor doggies and birdies. But I'll have my humans to comfort me if there are any loud noises and plenty spots to hide if it all gets too much.
I'm curious what 2022 will bring but here's hoping life will "open up" a bit more (not to mention shops & restaurants here in NL) and that we can return to some sort of "normal routine".
I will see you all again in 2022 in any case and will aim to be more organized with my posts next year (I've had words with my human - aka typist!)...
Until then, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support with my little blog over the past year (the kind comments are so welcome) and for the likes on Instagram - speaking of which, my human downloaded my 2021 Top 9 grid! ( #thanksforthelikes )
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and every health & blessing for 2022.
Love, LT xx
