Hello dear friends and Happy Halloween!

Hope you've all been having a fa-boo-lous day ;)

Check-out what I did today! (well, with a little help from my human...). I think this is one of my best Jack-o'-Lantern carvings yet!

Did you know that the custom of Jack-o'-Lanterns began in Ireland and comes from the legend of "Stingy Jack" who roamed the earth with a piece of burning coal in a carved-out turnip?

Yes indeed, originally turnips were used as Jack-o'-Lanterns but - when Irish immigrants brought the tradition to America - pumpkins were adopted and are now the norm today.

Halloween itself dates back to the Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of a bountiful harvest...

The Celts also believed that the souls of the dead walked the earth at Halloween and so they would wear special costumes to ward-off any evil spirits...

Fascinating stuff.

Away from pumpkins, I had a pretty good day. I had some extra sleep thanks to the clocks going back one hour (hurrah) and then enjoyed a nice lazy day at home... My humans headed-out for a lunch at noon so I had the house all to myself and caught up on some quality, quiet snoozies...

And then, I donned my special Halloween bow-tie for the day that was in it. Don't I look smart?

I still can't quite believe that it is already November tomorrow. Goodness, how fast this year has gone...

And it looks like November is going to be a rather feisty month weather-wise as lots of rain and wind is forecast - surely for the coming week.

In fact there was a rather dramatic rain shower here a few moments ago which had my humans running to the balcony to investigate!

And of course it will now be getting darker earlier in the evening so it's surely time for more cozy nights indoors...

Speaking of being cozy indoors, I can't believe I'm saying this but my humans have still not been to see the latest James Bond movie. In my last post I mentioned that they were due to go but this never materialized... what are they like? :)

However we did watch a really cool series on the Disney+ channel over the last few nights... It's called "Only Murders in the Building" and it was really, really good! We are already looking forward to season 2 and more fun tales about Hayden Maidens, Put Nuts and Mabellines (aah, you'll need to watch the show to find out more... ;)

But what of the coming week? Honestly, there is not all that much in the planning...

I believe we might well be eating pumpkin pie for a few days (depending on how the baking efforts of my human turn out ;) but for the rest, it'll just be about taking things easy...

My humans are in the market for some new winter coats mind, so I suspect some online shopping (or at least research) will be done. I have no such worries - I have one awesome coat which lasts me all year long!
