Kitty's Log

Date: 07-02-2022

Weather: Bright but chilly

Hello dear friends and happy Monday!

And happy February too... given it's my first post of the month (rabbit, rabbit, rabbit :)

I do hope you are keeping well and that you had a nice weekend. Mine was busy but quiet - if that makes any sense - with a distinctly sporty flavour.

Saturday was mostly consumed with Six Nations Rugby - I settled in to watch the opening game of the tournament which happened to be Ireland vs. Wales.

The game was held in Dublin and it was ultimately a win for the boys in green!

My human's brother (Nige) was actually at the game at the Aviva (she wasn't envious at all ;) which was pretty cool.

We didn't spot him on the TV at all but he did send over some pics of the stadium...

Next weekend, Ireland will be off to France for their second round game. I am already looking forward to the game... though I reckon it will be a tough match.

Next to rugby, we have also been watching a bit of the Winter Olympics in Beijing... the snowboarding was especially exciting!

Away from sporting activities and I've been taking things easy...

ree

I wasn't feeling 100% for a few days there last week but luckily, I am back to my usual self once again...

As you know, I will turn 12 years old in April this year.

I am now officially a senior cat!

In preparation, my humans came home the other day with some Royal Canin kibble for cats aged 12+.

I wasn't sure at first but I must say, it was very tasty indeed. I have also still been enjoying my soft food (Sheba, Gourmet,...) too - another sign that I am feeling better!

Yesterday here in Maastricht, it rained...

All. Day. Long.

It really was such a miserable weather day... and in the evening there was a really heavy downpour along with hailstone (it was so noisy) and thunder and lightning. I was a bit scared. I really don't like thunder rumbles at all but my humans were very comforting and I just snuggled-up in their arms until the worst of the storm had passed over.

And would you believe that today was a complete turn-around with sunshine and blue skies... #strangeweather !

ree

lt was still pretty chilly, mind so I didn´t venture outdoors but, if you were to catch a sun-spot inside, it could be very toasty indeed (as you can probably see :)

But strange weather aside, it is certainly nice to see a 'stretch' in the evenings and some more daylight hours...

Roll on springtime!

But what of the week ahead?

Well, it´s the usual working days for my humans so - when I am not napping - I'll be ´helping' by sitting on their laptops and investigating who is on their video call at any given time!

People are always so happy to see me on camera (well, I am a "cutie petutie" after all ;) and they smile a lot, wave and even lift-up their kitty furbabies so we can all see each other... it's such fun!

For the rest, I expect it will be another week full of the usual - appointments, chores, reading, shopping etc. - but it's all good and before we know it, it'll be Friday once again!

My humans will be off to one of their favourite spots for dinner on Friday night - Restaurant Wen Chow - which is also something to look forward to.

Well dear friends, that's about it from me for this week... I will try to write a bit more in my next post. Until that time, wishing you all a great week ahead, take care and sending lots of head boinks!

Love,

LT xx
